Tokyo Central PCH Torrance

A gem I finally visited to grab bento and sushi. The quality and selection are way better than mitsuwa and other Japanese grocery stores on the west side. I ended up getting a deluxe sushi tray, poke salad, and two bento boxes. The sushi try has many premium ingredients like squid and clams. The poke is also spot on and flavorful. The four items costed $65 reasonably and can definitely last for 2 meals for two people.

One of my favorite spots for Asian groceries! Huge selection of food and daily goods from Japan and other Asian countries. Prices are reasonable, and they even have fancy sushi platters and premium Wagyu beef imported from Japan. It’s such a fun place to just walk around and explore — though I always end up buying way more than I planned!

I love this grocery. It is so large and has the most Japanese products on the shelves. It kind of gives a bit of Donki vibes in a way lol. The hot food section is quite impressive as well. Another you’ll like is the small food court. It is small , maybe only 4 booths, but one of them has an incredible authentic ramen offering.

We love Tokyo Central in general and this new location next to Best Buy at PCH and Hawthorne is absolutely one of our new favorite places to shop. The selection is huge.. prepared sushi and sashimi choices stretch on for miles.. they have hot food and tons of choices there as well. The food court is just being built out and looks promising so far. The meat department is also huge and extensive.. they have your covered from any BBQ you could want.. you can get the premium Kobe and heritage breeds of pork and beef for Korean BBQ style or whatever you have in mind.. they have it. One of the best parts of this store are the specialty and imported items you can't find elsewhere and you don't want to order online.. they just are not fresh and well stocked.. and with the big store you get tons of choices.. don't get us wrong we love our little Sepulveda branch but this location is next level. This store has only been here for 6 months and they keep adding more and more... and we keep coming back for more.

Parking is plentiful even on busy weekends. This store is clean and bright. Items are nearly organized. The store is big and spacious. Cashiers are friendly and polite. There's a small food court inside with restrooms. The seating is very limited. There is a cold and hot water dispenser next to the utensil area near the entrance as you walk in. Sashimi is very fresh, and tastes almost like restaurant quality.

***EXPERIENCE 1*** (Positive) 06/14/25 It seems these days a lot of grocery stores have Asian items available. But there are times you just need to go to an Asian Specialty Market like Tokyo Central. At this store they have lots of meat cases with an assortment of specialty cuts of meat that you won't find at your average grocery store. On my latest visit Kewpie mayonnaise was on sale at a great price, so I grabbed some. There are lots of Japanese canned goods, and dry goods to browse. There is also a Hawaiian Goods section. In the refrigerated section you'll find items from tofu to tsukemono. The Produce section is large, well stocked, and looks fresh. They also have a large section of sweets & snacks with a vast assortment of treats to choose from. Last but not least, is a section of ready to eat foods from sandwiches, bowls, bentos, and sushi. On the hot food side the delicious collection of dishes are sold by the pound. All the food is freshly made. There was a woman that was constantly maintaining and overseeing all the various dishes assuring they remained tasty. Self checkout is just a few steps away, so if you are just getting food to go, it is quite convenient. A very helpful woman showed us how to use self checkout to purchase the Hot Food by the pound. If you need help, I'm sure someone will assist you. They even have a small dining area available to enjoy your food. I tried some Shumai, Fried Rice, Chicken Karaage, Tonkatsu, and Menchi Katsu. Everything I ate was delicious, and overall it was a great value. I'd definitely eat their Hot Food by the pound anytime.
